What Polyflor makes

Polyflor is known for vinyl in several forms. These include vinyl sheet that rolls out in wide widths, slip-resistant safety vinyl, and luxury vinyl tile and plank with timber, stone and abstract looks.

This spread lets one maker cover the corridor, the wet room and the feature area of the same building.

Where it suits

Sheet vinyl has few joins, which helps cleaning in health and care settings. Safety vinyl has a textured surface for wet areas like kitchens, bathrooms and entries.

Luxury vinyl tile and plank give a warmer look for lounges, offices and school common areas.

How the floor is specified and laid

Vinyl shows every bump in the slab, so preparation comes first. We test moisture, grind or patch where needed, and smooth the surface.

Sheet seams are welded so water cannot get through. In wet areas, the vinyl can be turned up the wall to form a coved edge that is easier to keep clean.

What to ask

Think about these points when you pick a Polyflor range.

  • What slip rating does the area need?
  • Will the seams be welded, and will the floor be coved?
  • How will staff clean and maintain it?
  • How long will the slab need to dry before laying?

Questions

Is Polyflor safety flooring the same as normal vinyl?

No. Safety vinyl has a grip surface for wet or oily areas. Normal vinyl is smoother and easier to wipe.

Can vinyl sheet be used on walls?

Some vinyl is made to turn up the wall as a cove. For full wall coverings we use separate wall vinyl products.

Do you lay both sheet and tile?

Yes. We choose the format with you based on the room, the traffic and the look.
