Flooring range

Commercial vinyl flooring

Vinyl is the most varied family of commercial floors. This page shows the main types, helps you tell them apart and points to the brands we work with.

Why vinyl is so widely used

Another reason is flexibility. Vinyl can be installed over many existing floors once the base is made flat, which saves time on renovations. Repairs are simple, since planks or tiles can be replaced and sheet can be patched. Many ranges also carry low-emission claims, which some building owners ask for. Compare ranges on these points before you decide, not only on colour.

Vinyl resists water, handles heavy traffic and comes in an enormous range of looks. It can copy timber, stone and concrete, or it can be a plain, practical colour. That mix of function and style explains why it appears in almost every kind of building.

It is also easier to maintain than many hard floors, and it is gentler underfoot.

The vinyl types we install

Each type solves a different problem. Pick the one closest to your need, then read its page.

How to choose between them

Start with the room. A hospitality lobby wants a good look and moderate traffic, so plank or tile fits. A treatment room or kitchen wants sealed seams, so sheet is the better answer. A wet area asks for grip, so look at safety grades.

Then check the base. All vinyl needs a dry, flat surface, and our floor preparation page explains how we get there.

Questions

Which vinyl suits a wet area?

Safety flooring with a slip rating, laid with welded seams, is the usual answer. Tell us how wet the area gets and we will match it.

Can vinyl look like timber?

Yes. Luxury vinyl plank copies timber grain closely and is made for commercial use.

Do you supply the product as well as lay it?

Yes. We help you choose from the brands listed here and then install the floor.
