Flooring range
Commercial carpet
Carpet adds comfort, warmth and sound control to a building. This page is a starting point for the broadloom ranges we lay and the makers behind them.

What commercial carpet gives a building
Carpet also helps in other ways. It adds a layer of insulation, which can lower the heat lost through a floor. It reduces the sound that travels through to rooms below, which is a real benefit in hotels and apartment buildings. Slip risk is low on dry carpet, and a fall onto it is softer than onto a hard surface.
Carpet softens footsteps, cuts echo and makes a room feel settled. In hotels and apartment corridors it is also a style choice, with bold patterns and rich colour.
Commercial carpet differs from home carpet. It is made with tougher fibres, denser construction and backings that cope with trolleys and chairs.
What we install
Our product page explains broadloom in more depth, including fibres, laying and care.
Carpet makers
The brands below make the broadloom ranges we work with. Visit a brand page to see what each is known for.
Choosing carpet well
Match the fibre to the use. Wool is natural and resilient, and nylon is very hard wearing. Look at the pattern as well. Busy patterns hide marks in corridors, and plain colours show every spot.
Ask about underlay and the fixing method. A stretched carpet on gripper strips behaves differently from a glued one, and the right choice depends on the room.

Questions
Is wool suitable for commercial buildings?
Yes. Wool is resilient and recovers well from foot traffic. Commercial wool ranges are built tougher than domestic ones.
How long does a carpet take to lay?
It depends on the size of the area, the base and the fixing method. We plan the timing with you during the estimate.
Can carpet be laid over an old floor?
Sometimes. The old surface must be sound and flat. We inspect it on site and advise what needs to be done.
